We're hiring

Join the team building the governance layer for enterprise AI. If you're passionate about security, compliance, and helping enterprises ship agents safely, we want to hear from you.

Open positions

Senior Backend Engineer

San Francisco · Full-time

Build APIs for policy enforcement, approval workflows, and audit logging. Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL.

Full Stack Engineer (Frontend)

San Francisco · Full-time

Design and build the UI for the Arx platform. React, TypeScript, Next.js. Work on approval queue, agent registry, audit trail.

Enterprise Sales Engineer

San Francisco · Full-time

Partner with Fortune 500 security teams. Deep technical knowledge of the Arx platform required. Help enterprises understand governance.

Product Manager

San Francisco · Full-time

Own the roadmap for approval workflows and compliance features. Work with customers, engineering, and the design team.

Engineering Internships

Arx is building the governance and control plane for security AI agents. Our engineering internship program is not a traditional learning role—you'll ship real code, work on production systems, and own components that enterprises depend on.

Program Structure

  • Duration: 8–12 weeks (flexible)
  • Time Commitment: ~15–30 hours per week
  • Format: Remote-first with weekly engineering check-ins
  • Collaboration: Async via GitHub, Slack, and internal tools

The Claude-First Approach

You'll develop using Claude Code as your primary development platform, paired with Claude models (Sonnet, Opus, Haiku) for building governance layers, policy enforcement, and observability systems. Claude Code is your primary tool, supported by traditional development practices (Git, CLI workflows, testing frameworks) to build production-grade systems.

This is hands-on experience with the full Claude ecosystem in a real enterprise security context.

Engineering Tracks

Choose one of five core engineering tracks. You'll own your assigned component end-to-end.

API & Integration Layer

Remote · Internship, 8–12 weeks

Build and maintain connectors to security and infrastructure tools. Design governed operations (read/write actions). Handle authentication, rate limits, and failure modes. Pair Claude Code with Python/Node.js backends to ship secure integrations.

Agent Execution & Control Plane

Remote · Internship, 8–12 weeks

Work on the intercept → evaluate → log pipeline for Claude agents. Implement policy enforcement logic and risk scoring. Make execution decisions (permit / escalate / deny). Ship a component that directly governs how Claude agents execute in production.

Observability & Logging

Remote · Internship, 8–12 weeks

Build logging pipelines and tamper-evident audit trails for agent actions. Ensure traceability across systems. Integrate with SIEMs or logging backends. Own the observability layer that enterprises audit for compliance.

Reliability & Platform Stability

Remote · Internship, 8–12 weeks

Improve error handling, retry logic, and failure recovery. Add monitoring, alerting, and health checks. Ensure system resilience under real-world conditions and high load. Build the reliability layer that makes production systems safe.

Developer Experience

Remote · Internship, 8–12 weeks

Improve SDKs and internal tooling for building new integrations. Simplify onboarding for developers. Build test harnesses and validation workflows. Make it easier for teams to ship faster and safer.

What You'll Gain

  • Real-world experience: Ship production code on day one. No side projects or training wheels.
  • Claude expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Claude Code, Claude models, and governance patterns.
  • Security & AI: Learn how enterprises deploy and control AI agents safely.
  • Mentorship: Direct feedback from the founder on architecture and execution.
  • Clear path forward: Top performers transition to Core Builder roles or full-time positions.

What We're Looking For

  • Engineers who can build and ship, not just prototype
  • Comfortable debugging real systems and APIs
  • Understand backend systems, distributed workflows, or infrastructure
  • Take ownership of problems end-to-end
  • Bonus (not required): Experience with security tooling, AI systems, or observability

Tech Stack

  • Development: Claude Code (primary) + Python / Node.js
  • Frameworks: FastAPI, Django, Express, or Next.js (depending on track)
  • Infrastructure: Cloud-hosted services, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Data: PostgreSQL, event streams, logging pipelines
  • Tools: GitHub, CLI workflows, Git, internal SDKs

Next Steps

If there's alignment, we'll:

  1. Define your engineering track
  2. Scope an initial project (2–4 weeks)
  3. Set clear deliverables and success criteria
  4. Ship code with feedback loops
